About Uganda

Geography

Uganda is one of the east African countries. It is bordered by Kenya in the east, Tanzania in the south, Rwanda in the south west Dr. Congo in the West and South Sudan in the North.
Uganda is blessed with variety of physical features ranging from snow capped mountains, tropical rain forests, undulating hills in kabale, to great lakes like lake Victoria, lake Albert, and rivers like the Nile.

Climate

Uganda's climate ranges from equatorial forests in the west, savanna, woodland, and semi arid in the north and north east. The rainfall is received three times in a year. Generally Uganda is a hot and wet country, a perfect place for a vacation or holiday


Demography

Uganda is a country of a population of about 35 million and has a variety of ethnic groups that form about 40 tribes each speaking a different language. In the central region around Kampala, Luganda is predominantly spoken, however the language can also be understood in various towns in the east and west of the country. Other local language include Lusoga in the east and Lunyakitara in the western part of the country. The official language for the country is English, however, Swahili can also be used in day to day operations.
